Calf Extension Machine.
Seated calf extension on a weight-stack machine. Isolates the soleus for controlled hypertrophy work.
How to do it
- Sit on the machine with the balls of your feet on the platform and pads secured over your knees.
- Set the weight. Drop your heels below the platform for a full stretch.
- Press up onto your toes to full extension. Pause briefly at the top.
- Lower under control back to the stretched position. That's one rep.
Form cues
- Full range: deep heel drop, high toe extension.
- Slow eccentric — 2–3 seconds down.
- Keep knees pinned to the pads through the whole rep.
