How to do it

  1. Hold a dumbbell in one hand, stand on the opposite leg.
  2. Hinge at the hip, letting the free leg travel back.
  3. Lower until you feel the hamstring stretch.
  4. Drive the hips forward to stand.

Form cues

  • Hips stay square to the floor
  • Reach the free leg back, don't just lean forward
  • Soft knee on the standing leg
